PARADISE AWAITS YOU!
Once you check in at Discovery Cove and head down the pathway to the beach, it will feel as though you left Orlando and have been transported to the Caribbean!

It’s worth every penny. Kids will love being able to grab snacks and icee drinks all day long, and parents will love the pina coladas and mango daiquiris.

UPON ARRIVAL When you arrive at Discovery Cove you are welcomed into the reception center. This is the check-in area, where you will get your lanyards and park map. You can arrive beginning at 7:30 a.m. I would plan for an early start so you have plenty of time to check-in and then enjoy breakfast before the waterways open at 8:30 a.m. You will want to take advantage of the full day at Discovery Cove, as it closes at 5 p.m. each day.

ON THE MENU Both breakfast and lunch are included in your admission, and it is all you care to eat. Breakfast is served from 7:30 – 10 am. and lunch from 11:30 – 3:30 pm. For breakfast, there’s fresh fruit, eggs, potatoes, bacon, danishes, and muffins.
For lunch, there’s a huge variety of foods to choose from: pineapple chicken and rice, burgers, chicken fingers, pasta, salad, wraps and sides a plenty. And don’t forget about dessert: cheesecake, chocolate cakes, pineapple upside down cake – just to name a few.

DISCOVERY COVE IS SPLIT INTO THREE DISTINCT AREAS
1. DOLPHIN LAGOON
This is where you will have your dolphin swim experience. If you are not participating, you can still wade by the shoreline and get some great photos of the park’s playful bottle-nose friends.
Your time will be assigned when you check in. Before you enter the water you will watch a short safety video and hear from your instructor. You are then led to the shoreline where you will meet your trainer and she will take you out in about 4 feet of water to meet your dolphin.
You’ll interact and learn more about your dolphin, take photos, and you’ll get to wrap your arm around his dorsal fin and he’ll swim you to shore!
You can’t take your camera in the water with you, but there are photographers in the water the entire time taking pictures for you to purchase.
2. GRAND REEF
It’s a salt water reef, home to tropical fish, sharks, stingrays and more. If you don’t want to snorkel, you can wade on the shoreline and play with rays, or watch fish gracefully swim by. Each stingray at Discovery Cove has a name so try and meet them all! Just note that this water is cold compared to the Fresh Water Oasis.

If you really want to get up close and personal with sea life in the Grand Reef, then dive deep with Sea Venture. This experience is an extra cost but for those who don’t like to snorkel, this could be for you! No scuba certification required. You wear a dive helmet that is hooked to a air tank and walk along the bottom of the reef, coming face to face with tropical fish. The adventure ends with a massive fish feed going on all around you.
3. FRESH WATER OASIS
This is a tropical paradise and the water is kept at 85 degrees year round. It’s probably where you’ll spend the most time. You can swim in the open pools or take a relaxing and lazy tour down the wind away river. All throughout the fresh water oasis were caves and caverns to explore. You’ll also come face to face with macaws, otters and monkeys! The birds will let you get up close and personal for a photo.

This area of Discovery Cove has zero entry depth in multiple areas, and is perfect for toddlers in your family.
WANNA CABANA? For the ultimate day at Discovery Cove you can rent a private cabana. This will give you more personal space and privacy. Cabanas can accommodate up to eight guest. Ideally six would be comfortable. Included is a stocked fridge, towels, lounge chairs and a locker. Cabanas are limited, so you must reserve in advance.

Discovery Cove will only take 1300 guests per day, so it’s best to buy tickets in advance. If you are visiting in the summer months buy your tickets at least 3 months ahead of time. For more details and information on how to put together your perfect Discovery Cove escape, just ask!
