Lately, I’ve noticed a bunch of fake Disney Facebook pages appearing on my newsfeed, especially after our trip and my other Disney “likes” in my profile. There have been pages claiming if you like, follow, and share their page then you will win a free Disney trip or a free cruise. Please don’t follow them. They are scammers and shockingly some pages have 50,000 followers who have been scammed.

There are over 16 million followers and this is what their current page looks like:
You’ll notice the check mark next to their name because it is verified. Do not follow “Walt Disney World.” with the little period in their name, that is a fake site. There’s also a “Walt Disney-World.” page that is also fake. Here’s one of their posts, even stealing the same profile picture so it appears real:
Also, keep in mind that Disney does not allow travel agencies to use “Disney” in their name, so “Walt Disney World Travel” is not a travel agency. If you click on their page, you will see there is no contact information, nothing listed “about” them, etc… just 50,000 followers who keep liking their posts in hopes of winning a free vacation. They are just interested in getting your information. And they may change into a very un-Disney like, not family friendly, page in the future so just steer clear.
Here’s another example of how these pages can look similar. It’s easy to trust the wrong page. Look at the differences below:
The top one with the “s” at the end of Disney Cruise Line is fake. The bottom picture with the blue check mark is real.
So just be careful. If there’s one thing I hate it’s scammers. The only legitimate contest with Disney right now that I’ve seen is with Pop Secret Popcorn. So if you’re buying popcorn, enter the contest, and good luck!
And when you’re interested in planning a Disney vacation, turn to someone who you know you can trust!
