BEACHES RESORTS: SESAME STREET & AUTISM
Last year all team members that work at Beaches Resorts took part in sensitivity training in support of an initiative: Sesame Street & Autism. While Beaches Resorts Kids Camps have won numerous awards, they have now earned the distinction of being certified autism centers. This is a first of its kind in the Caribbean. The camp counselors and nannies are certified autism specialists which means they have the knowledge, skills, temperament, and experience to cater to ALL children. For families with children with autism and other special needs, Beaches offers specialized service, engaging activities and even custom dining options so that all families may enjoy a memorable vacation.
Starting on September 1, 2017, Beaches welcomes Julia – a sweet and curious 4-year-old with autism.
She will welcome all children and their families to paradise with engaging activities like Amazing Art with Julia and other enjoyable character experiences, specifically with them in mind.
Other Sesame Street experiences at the Beaches resorts include parades and live stage shows, where the kids join in by singing and dancing with the characters. For that something “extra” there are packages available for character breakfasts and nighttime tuck-ins – where a character comes to your room to read a bedtime story and tuck your child(ren) in for the night!
Weekly activities include: Bake with Cookie Monster, Explore with Grover, Dance Party with Elmo and Friends, Abby Cadabby and Elmo’s Surprise Tea Time, Super Grover’s Science Fair, Bird Watching with Big Bird and more!
